Just to add a little more "Iraq is Vietnam" meme, A. for a**hole Whitney wants to know where his necklace of Iraqi children's cut off ears is for all his tax money spent on the war. He wants a trophy.
Maybe our soldiers are too busy tickling them to death to get to the ear cutting?
Or the dogs are just so much more fun to kill?

Reid: Pace failed on Iraq war assessment
Reid: Pace failed on Iraq war assessment
You know, the only way Reid and his ilk would be happy with the Generals and not accuse them of playing politics is if they stood on Capitol Hill, declared Iraq a loss and requested orders to retreat.
But, he knows these guys are easy marks because they are in the military and they are not supposed to make political comments that would place them in one party or the other. That includes defending themselves against such insinuations that some how still make them out to be political activists in uniform.
I think that's just about as low as you can get as a politician. That and letting your girlfriend drown in your car. Or getting your jollies in the oval office with your intern while you let your wife run the government. Or, taking bribes and freezing it in your kitchen. Or any number of other not so good things while you accuse the opposition of the same.
I guess, if you're Reid, you don't have much more to lose in terms of any integrity or standing. Guess he won't be running for president. Hate to see what his military advisors would look or sound like.

Phelps "Ma Barker" Goes to the Klinker
Well, it had to happen sometimes. While I may believe that burning the flag should be considered free speech (our forefathers burnt the flag of England amongst other things when they were still, technically "British Citizens"), I had to laugh a little. It just goes to show, ignorance of the law is no excuse for breaking it:
Woman Arrested During Soldier's Funeral
OMAHA, Neb. -- A woman was arrested in Bellevue on Tuesday during the funeral for a fallen soldier.
Shirley Phelps-Roper was arrested on suspicion of contributing to the delinquency of a minor for allowing her 8-year-old son to stomp on an American flag.
Now, how exactly did that happen? I will tell you, I've seen these folks at protests and it is usually one or two adults with several children. It is the same tactic that Palestinians and other religious extremists use to indoctrinate their children. They think they can get away with things because no one will prosecute children. It doesn't mean that the adults can't be charged with endangerment, neglect or, in this case, contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Police said the group to which Phelps-Roper belongs had a permit to protest 300 feet from Bailey's funeral.
Bellevue Officer Joe Gray, who made the arrest, said that at first the group brought out a couple of members' own American flags.
"The arrestee, Ms. Phelps-Roper, put one around her waist. The second one was given to a 10-year-old, who put it on the ground and started kicking it in the area they were protesting," Gray said.
Nebraska law states that it is a Class 3 misdemeanor when a person "intentionally casts contempt or ridicule upon a flag by mutilating, defacing, defiling, burning or trampling upon such flag." The law was passed in 1977.
"It appears the adults weren't stepping on the flag because they knew it was a violation of the law. But they allowed the children to go ahead and do that," Gray said.
Okay, so they knew the law, but were stretching it. Of course, if you know you are not allowed to drink in public, but you hand your 12 year old a beer, you still broke the law.
The officer said it was nothing personal, it was simply Nebraska's law and he was enforcing it. (Why do I feel a big "wink" at the end of that statement?)
The county prosecutor said, paraphrasing, "that's not free speech; them thar's fightin' words".
Mother Phelps-Roper said she is going to appeal the charges because the law is "outdated".
I don't know...seems rather timely to me. If it was just against her for "desecrating the flag", I imagine the judge would just throw it out to get rid of the people. However, if the prosecutor were able to prove that the adults were purposefully not breaking the law, but allowing or even encouraging the children to do so, regardless of the law in question I think I'd prosecute it. Just on the principle of the thing.

Swastikas: Something Guaranteed to Tick You Off
Some jacklegs took flags off of veterans' graves and replaced them with swastikas. Not once but twice.
In Orcas Island, Washington. Now, tell me someone in this little tin hole doesn't know who that probably was. That does not happen here because someone would get their butts handed to them in a tupperware bowl.

Vandalism Is Not Free Speech
Lately, I've had the unfortunate displeasure of having my car vandalized, my flag torn off my antennea and it was broken. The "support the troops" magnets were tossed in the mud puddle. I just figured it was some local young idiots with nothing better to do. I have also had the unfortunate displeasure to learn that many have been suffering the same fate. Namely, "support the troops" magnets have been taken or torn up and left on the car.
Ala at Blonde Sagacity had her sticker torn in half and left on the car.
Soldiers' Angels have recently reported similar incidents.
Thus, I am compelled to conclude that it is not "young idiots" with nothing better to do, but "idiots" in general who think that they are expressing some political point of view by damaging our private property.
Let's be very clear: Vandalism is NOT free speech.
This is personal property. It's on MY car. I purchased the magnets with MY hard earned money. I do not damage people's cars even if they have offensive stickers on them or express opinions different than mine.
Personal property is protected in the United States and it is illegal to damage any part of it deliberately and with malice. It doesn't matter whether the magnet cost $1.99 or the antennea cost $59.99 or a car or a house. It is still illegal and it is still not "free speech".
Put a sign in your yard that says "Bush is a war criminal". I will walk by and shake my head, but your sign will stay there.
You could even post a sign that says, "Screw the troops!" and I would still walk by. I would still think you are an idiot, but your sign, your house, your car, everything you own would be safe from me.
Because it is your property.
Keep your hands off of my property, whatever it says, wherever it is parked, whether that is in my driveway or in the parking lot of my local grocery store.
Your free speech ends at my property line.
Now, if you disagree with me, see my magnets on the car and would like to speak with me, stand by the car in the parking lot. I'll be happy to talk to you about our differences.
Free speech is countered with more free speech.
Be forewarned, though, these days I carry a video camera and our conversation will be recorded for posterity, for my safety and for possible mocking on the internet.
Still, keep your hands of my car and the magnets. I will have you prosecuted. If the prosecuter thinks it is "too small", I will raise such a ruckus on the internet, in the media and everwhere that your name will be "mud" no matter what. I will also take you to small claims court and request damages. I don't care if the magnet cost $1.99. We are talking about the principle of the thing. Whatever it costs me, it will cost you more in time and money.
You will be reminded, regardless of outcome, that your "speech" ends at my property line.
It's private property.
Vandalism is NOT free speech.
By the way, tonight I prepared 10 copies of videos of "I support the troops" messages from several hundred people. I will be sending more on Tuesday and more the day after and the day after.
Did you change me with your pettiness?
Not only, "No!" but "Hell, no!"
In fact, you made me want to do more. Thank you for reminding me that I have to take up your slack, slacker.
Tonight, I packed a box with over 10lbs of personal care, snacks and entertainment items for our troops. When my mom came by, she asked what I needed for the next package. I expect to be sending out the next one in two weeks or less. When my step-mom called and asked what I was doing tonight, I told her and she is ordering puzzle books in bulk (as requested by my troops) to send to the front.
Thank you! You are truly an inspiration!
The antennea was replaced (with MY money). My mom brought me a new flag. I washed the magnets off and they are back on the car.
Let me repeat, keep your hands off the magnets and the car.
Vandalism is NOT free speech.
