Visitors from the Ace of Spades: Really, I'm not that funny
I noticed that a recent conversation from the comment section at the Ace of spadeshad a lot of folks clicking on over to check out who I was.
The truth is, my blogging is not nearly as humorous or off the cuff as my comments on other blogs. I am more of a "serious" blogger that likes to research information and come to my own conclusions, largely blogging to put down my own research. Not surprisingly, they are rarely the conclusions fronted by mass media that generally resembles the Enquirer and other tabloid newspapers on cable TV steroids.
And don't get me started on Rueters or AP or any of the other mass production, mass distributed, sucks worse than an AMF Harley Davidson with 20k miles on it, lying sack of crap news organizations.
I've never been instalaunched, but I'm good with my modest links on a few good sites I read.
Although, I suppose if I'm going to ever get a link at Ace's place, I am actually going to have to write a full expose on John Edward's choice of underwear during the primaries: boxers or brief? Silky or cotton? French Cut or Thong? Hello Kitty or Transformers?
Nah....Gi Jane with a kung fu grip. That's to remind him that he is a straight man while surrounded by the overflowing, self important homosexuality that is appx 3% (ie, 9 million) of our population, where in less than 50% vote, of which less than 2% would vote for a republican so why in the hell do these folks feel like they have to pander to a social group that they will give lip service to (the thought of Hillary or Pony boy giving "lip service" just grossed me out), but won't do anything for because they will not sacrifice the other 50% of the main stream voters they hope to get who couldn't care less about gay issues? Frankly, it was a sad spectacle of kabuki theater because you know that Melissa Etheridge knows these characters are full of bull and its highly unlikely she is going to get legally married to her "life partner" in this life time.
No, I am not a homophobic. I just find certain things a little hypocritical and demeaning.
I am envious. Gay cable TV? Where in the hell is my channel? You know, real women with real issues, like: how do you eject a jammed round from your automatic pistol without damaging your manicure?
Seriously, folks, I am a serious blogger. When I read my stuff, you should hear Beethoven's fifth in the background, beating a clue or two into your head. Although, I have no regular trolls, a few screaming KOS kids have ran through the place and immediately committed suicide due to the inability to cope with statistical analysis and actual proof that there is no intelligent life on the KOS blog.
But, if you are reading here, you already know that.
If you want something funny to read, try hitting the archived section between November 2004 and February 2005 for my series: Why am I single? let me count the ways(yes, you have to find the rest of them in the archives, that just gets you started). Or a later 2005 series: Hillbilly Bikers (My family motorcycle trip to hell and back again)

Necklaces of Children's Ears
Just to add a little more "Iraq is Vietnam" meme, A. for a**hole Whitney wants to know where his necklace of Iraqi children's cut off ears is for all his tax money spent on the war. He wants a trophy.
Maybe our soldiers are too busy tickling them to death to get to the ear cutting?
Or the dogs are just so much more fun to kill?

Just Like Scott
If all it takes is some gritty, asinine, I wannabe Hunter Thompson writing to get published, I thought I'd try my hand at it:
Every time we went down this road, the squirrels would run out and play chicken with the car. So I made up this game. Every time I saw one in the road, I would slow down until I was up close, looking into its beady little eyes, then I would hit the accelerator, jamming the car into first gear and smoking the front tires as I aimed my beat up, faded, front wheel drive Pontiac right for them. This one squirrel dodged away so I jerked the wheel to the right at fifty miles an hour on the little two lane, switchback road with ditches on either side trying to catch it in my all weather treads.
It ran into the ditch on the driver's side, just as the neighbor's SUV came over the hill. I didn't let that stop me. I knew, if I timed it just right, I could catch that mangy rat and escape from the oncoming path of the Escalade before it had time to turn my car into an accordian. I rammed the gear shift into third, twisted the wheel to the left as I jammed on the emergency break causing the crappy little Pontiac's left front tire to slide into the ditch and catch the flea infested rodent's tail in my treads. Then I yanked the car back to the right, slammed the emergency break to off and stomped on the accelerator, causing the front tires of my front wheel drive car to burn rubber, throwing smoke and smelling like a barbecue in the ghetto.
My neighbor in his SUV barely had time to stomp on the breaks and swerve away, honking as he passed me. I gave him the finger as I masterfully swung the car back into my lane, dragging the squirrel into my rotor by its tail, listening to it squeal before I heard the satisfying crunch of bones. "Yeah!" My yell echoed through the car, "That's three. Man, isn't war beautiful?!"
I rolled to a stop and dug through my purse, looking for the little black agenda book that I kept all my "kills" in. The ball point pen ran out of ink so I jumped out of the car and dipped the tip of the pen in the bloody remains of the squirrel to mark the book. Looking at the remains of the squirrel, I felt nothing. I kicked it's carcass as I lit a smoke, watching the tendrils curl up into the hot, muggy air of a Missouri summer day. I saw my neighbor get out of his SUV, pulling bags of nuts from the rear hatch. I flipped him the bird and he ran screaming into his house. I got back into the car. All the kids were giggling so I squealed like a squirrel and they laughed even harder. Just another day on the way to church.
What? It could happen. If you didn't know that front wheel drive Pontiacs don't "burn rubber", the ditches on either side of the road are two feet deep and the car would probably roll over, the car is an automatic, the front air spoiler would be ripped off, the neighbor owns a Ford F-150, I prefer gel pins to ball points, I have no children and I haven't been to church in so long my mom has me on the permanent prayer list.
I mean, we do have squirrels who play chicken. I do own a Pontiac. And I do have an agenda book in my purse to mark down my "kills". Doesn't everybody?
Disclaimer: No squirrels were actually killed or injured in the making of this story.
John Barnes on Writing Style
Commenter at blackfive trying to convince that this is "normal" and "could happen" because there are idiots everywhere
The Armorer sticks to the details that are implausible and leaves the morality of soldiers to other bloggers.
Way down in the comments, Trias makes an excellent observation:
I don't understand why he is interesting. It sounds like a cheap money spinner to me.
Hence, my original comment about all it takes to get published. He is now just an amusing parody.

Off the Cuff in Kansas City
I thought I would try to restart something I tried last year, "Off the Cuff in Kansas City" where I'll address whatever topics have been generally eating at me, but I don't have time to make full posts, research or really care to do either.
First up:
Avast Ye Vast Majority
Just who in hades is this "vast majority"? First they support the war, then, according to some these days, they don't support it. They want to win in Iraq, but they want to bring our troops home.
Excuse me if I think that the "vast majority" is full of fat heads. Let's be realistic, the "vast majority" is a lame label for the idiots who spend their time taking online polls. Of which, the "vast majority" has to know that it's fixed. How many times do the same people take the poll in order to rig a number one way or the other? Plenty. I just participated in an online vote to elect someone "Dr. Mc Dreamy". Whether he really was "Dr. McDreamy" didn't matter. We wanted him to win so we flooded the polling by alerting everybody on our list. He is currently in the lead. I guess that makes me an idiot since I took the poll. It was for a good cause.
Every time I see some politician, journalist or, even bloggers, say or write the words "vast majority" I immediate weigh their reporting/opinion with a ton of salt. Mainly because I know that this "vast majority" didn't even vote in the last elections. The polls said so.
If I want to know what the "vast majority" believes, I'll walk up and down my street and ask my neighbors. I'll probably get just about as accurate an opinion as any.
I think the term "vast majority" should start being treated like the word "Nazi". Any time anyone uses the term, right or left of the aisle, I will invoke "Godwin's Law" and start scrolling by.
Out in a Blaze of Glory
What is it with messed up people deciding that they have to take everyone out with them in order to make a statement? What happened to simply killing yourself and leaving all those around you wondering why? Now, some idiot gets a bug up his arse, has a fight with his wife, or thinks the boss is a jackass and they have to start shooting everybody.
They couldn't hang themselves quietly in their garage?
I know, that is unsympathetic and lacking empathy. Shoot me. If the poor soul had actually done that, I could whip up my sympathy to an appropriate degree since I have experience with and comprehend the damage that mental illness can do to the person and their family. I have a problem giving sympathy to anyone that goes to the local school, mall or post office and starts whacking everyone in site no matter how cracked up everyone starts saying they were.
Admitting Mistakes
Pardon me if I don't feel like adding some obligatory "mistakes were made" comment to any post, comment or spoken word regarding the war. I don't comprehend it at all. Particularly in a time of war. All those who claim to know what "mistakes were made" probably don't know crap about what they are talking about, including the president.
Time for review is here and now, but not in a public setting. If the war is so important, appoint new generals and figure it out. Mistakes are always made in war either because we're an idiot or the enemy is smarter. It doesn't mean that we announce them to the enemy so he knows what to do next time. That is my chief complaint about this whole thing. It is not about what I believe or what I don't believe. It is about what the enemy believes or does not believe.
Today, Al Qaeda and its affiliates must believe that Allah has reached down and blessed them with the holy sword.
You do not fight a war by announcing your stupidity. Your enemy already knows. That's why men are dead and land is lost. The question is, will he continue to believe you're an idiot and how do you use that to your advantage?
These days, Osama must think we are such big idiots that he can come out of his cave and sunbathe in a two piece without getting blown to smithereens. Hopefully, he will believe it so well that he does just that and we do blow him to smithereens. As much as things get said about "mistakes" and "losing" this war, you could almost believe that it WAS a disinformation campaign.
Until then, loose lips sink ships.
I think this is all some messed up bit of pop psychology that thinks we should all admit our sins, get forgiveness and move on. Nice theory if you are visiting the priest and you are not the president of a nation at war. This whole "confession" and "absolution" thing has gone too far.
