I'm Famous!

I was interviewed by Mister Ghost at Iraqi blogger's Central. Clearing house for blogs that post from or about Iraq.

You can catch it Here.

A small taste:

MG: Speaking of Sam, he reported that one of the Terrorists they had captured in Iraq, had confessed to torturing people by pulling out their eyeballs before he killed them. Do you think the Mainstream Media in this country would devote more attention to this story, if the terrorist made his victims wear panties on their heads and flushed down a couple of Korans?

Kat: No. The only way it would get more coverage is if he suddenly came out with a confession that he was a born again Christian that attended Bob Jones University, was a faithful follower of Falwell, slept in the Lincoln bedroom during the First Bush administration, had secret documents showing that President Bush hadn't completed his National Guard Service and had once snorted a line of coke with the President in Kennebunkport while Barbara Bush made them cookies in case they got the munchies and Laura Bush danced naked on the coffee table with a lampshade on her head.

Yes. lawrence was very interesting. I've read some reviews and different biographies and I think they spend too much time trying to sort him out and not enough time paying attention to what he was saying.

Most interesting, last June I posted about his 20 bullet points on how to deal with bedouin tribes and wondered why it wasn't being read in the military and then, lo and behold, a few months later I saw a list of books for officers that included Lawrence and pointed to his 20 point bulletin as a good reference.

What was extremely interesting was that the focus last year around this time really switched to developing the Iraqi army and having them out front to do the work instead of Americans, which Lawrence indicated as the best way to make a small foot print and keep the heat off of your own forces. Something about the Arabs will accept one of their own doing something for and to them than they would outsiders and it still holds true, almost a 100 years later.

Excellent read for anyone wanting a feel for how to related foreign force to inter tribal considerations.

You were famous long before the Mr Ghost interveiw, which was very interesting.

It is that unwillingness to accept outsiders and to fight against them that is the cause of many Allied deaths. It's nothing personal, it's just the duty of every Arab to oppose outsiders, unless the right of hospitality is asked and granted.

I've read his 27 Articles and the Seven Pillars Of Wisdom and indeed what yo say is true. He is a different charecter to sort out, but, a smart man indeed. You must have seen the Articles on Defense and National Interest. Inside The Pentagon(Belly of the Beast) placed the Seven Pillars in light. It is funny how only a few pay attention to such things.
